In the midst of the rookie game show’s budding popularity on the network, NBC decided to order an additional season comprised of 13 episodes of Ellen Degeneres’s spinoff series. The announcement was made yesterday by Paul Telegdy, NBC’s President, Alternative and Reality Group, during the TCA panel session of the network’s hit singing competition series The Voice.
In its first three episodes, which aired on December 18 and January 2, Ellen’s Game of Games ranked within the top five highest-rated primetime network shows among total viewers and Adults 18-49. In fact, last week’s doubleheader ranked first and second in the key demo (2.4, 2.2).
The renewal comes as no surprise as the new series is not only garnering strong viewership, but is also an exciting, excellent, well-constructed game show. Head to NBC.com to check out the latest episodes of Ellen’s Game of Games stay tuned for new episodes every Tuesday night at 8:00pm ET on NBC.
